The days prior were nerve wracking, as local facilities refused to treat her. It never occurred to me that I would encounter this

Oh, God. You mean they wanted to vaccinate your very sick cat before they'd see her and treat the illness? That's unforgivable and malpractice both!
They wouldn’t even vaccinate her at time of service. They wanted a certificate prior to granting an appointment
Well then, maybe there's a bit of sense in them yet. Can't tell you how many of my patients came with stories of being vac'd while they were ill.
Zero humanity left in vetinary care. It's obscene.
