Thanks for the Cornucopia link. I'm not familiar with that yet. Looks like I may choose to switch the egg brand that I buy when the local farm market runs out of eggs, as they do this time of year.
I have two issues with the item on bird flu. The first one is ‘the data’. The data is always based on testing. ‘The animal tested positive for H5N1’. The tests are ALWAYS PCR tests. It has been irrefutably proven (and confirmed by its inventor) that you can use a PCR test to prove whatever you want as long as you run enough cycles. If we are ever going to get real answers we must, IMHO, completely eliminate PCR tests.
The second thing l struggle with is the recommendation to contact public health officials if your cat has certain symptoms because ‘these are also symptoms associated with rabies’. Involving ‘officials’ in this day and age will most likely result in your cat being subjected to a PCR test and being put down. Mind you, this recommendation is made by the AVMA, which is obviously a totally captured entity like the AMA, AHA and every other medical association out there. NOT criticism, Dr Falconer, but I’m often bewildered by your obvious understanding of the ‘disease’ and vaccine scams run by both human and animal medical establishments, and your reference to the data and recommendations of these same establishments.
The concerns about the PCR tests are valid, but they also have antibody (titer) tests in play. I almost added a piece on PCR and Kary Mullis, its inventor, but it would have been too long. I watched a video of him, part of a group speaking about the AIDS/HIV mess, and I wasn't impressed with him. Looked drug-addled to me, though obviously an intelligent guy. Won a Nobel, but there's reason to question the validity of that award as it's been given to some odd ducks over its history.
It all comes down to cycles of amplification: how many? They are standards that seem to exist and are acceptable (25-35) but are they always using that number? The current view on PCR has apparently "evolved" since the original discovery and it's now considered the "gold standard," even though Kary is everywhere quoted as saying it was never meant to be a diagnostic test.
Then there's the "capture" of the alphabet groups, AVMA, etc. At some point, we have to sift and winnow and decide if things are black/white or not. I don't think tracking symptoms is likely to be fabricated. So, I trust them on that. If your cat goes into acute CNS symptoms and you treat that as possibly due to rabies, it's your choice. There are standards of how to treat those suspected of rabies, and it's in your free (highlighted even) copy of the Compendium of Rabies in your free Vital Animal Pack member area.
So, I've got lines in the sand like everyone needs to draw. I won't spend time with those claiming viruses don't exist, for example.
We have diseases that have symptoms that are useful to track (especially in homeopathy). We also have just lived lived through perhaps the greatest world wide scam ever perpetrated with the RNA jabs, and we routinely see vaccination of the normal variety causing illness and even death.
Each of us has to decide what we accept to be true and what we find to be false. But beware of throwing out the baby with the bathwater. It's more nuanced and discernment takes work and is becoming more rare as this age of ignorance we live in advances.
It almost seems as though avian flu and rabies virus had a baby, but that would be crazy, right?
I was wondering if the sanctuary cats may have been given the mrna covid vaccine that zoetis donated to the zoos and sanctuaries. Did that cause them to succumb to a virus in a dead animal? Wouldn't the virus die when the animal did? It's so jard to know with all the bioweapon experimentation.
At any case I would be very afraid to involve ant of our health agencies, as your pet would probably be culled to avoid spreading. 😫
Sorry, aren't they saying cats are getting it from frozen raw turkey and chicken. That's what I meant by "the virus in a dead animal". I just never heard of a virus spreading from processed meats.
To my knowledge, the only association to date has been the recalled raw food (not processed) and the cat who died of the virus. Identical virus tracks found in both. The big cat shelter is guessing it might be the raw meat, but no proof yet. Hopefully they'll get clearer answers for us.
"Experimental vaccines" -- damn. Didn't know they had their fingers in this as well. So, that's worth asking of the shelter who lost big cats. Nothing coming out of Zoetis is worthy of trust, IME.
While that's a wild card, the fact remains that big cats in the wild have also died of this disease, as the map I posted shows. As have quite a variety of wild animals as that map indicates.
More info: "Here are the key points regarding Zoetis' vaccines for zoo animals:
Type of Vaccine: The vaccines developed by Zoetis for animals, including those used in zoos, are not based on mRNA technology. Instead, they are formulated specifically for veterinary use and have been used to protect various species, including large cats and bears, from COVID-19 1,2.
Purpose and Use: These vaccines were created to address concerns about the transmission of SARS-CoV-2 among domestic and wild animals. Zoetis has donated these vaccines to several zoos to help protect at-risk species 2,3.
Experimental Status: The vaccines are classified as experimental and have been authorized for use in specific animal populations, including zoo animals 4,3.
The problems still exist with coronavirus vaccines: big risk of turning the immune system into a self attacking beast. Forget the 3-letter abbrev of this, but it's why past vaccines were never brought to market. The test animals largely died.
Isn't it interesting that the good doc who makes a living pointing out the unwillingness of conventional medicine to engage in dialogue or consider the merits of other healing modalities also refuses to engage in dialogue with well meaning readers who ask questions he considers provocative and also engages in censorship? What's he so afraid of? This sort of behavior is sadly typical of those hiding behind their credentials. Or could it be that he's engaging in some transference - as a devotee of an indian guru one wonders if he expects the same sort of fanatical devotion from his readers. In either case the unfortunate behavior points to the doc needing a few remedies, especially considering his apparent liver issues.
Our cats had something similar in May and June of 2024. It affected 5 cats. Unfortunately we lost one of them. In looking at the progression and patterns of the illness, we found that the cats could not smell their food. Once we were able to identify that they couldn't smell, not even catnip right in front of their nose, we began feeding them high protein liquid food and the herb slippery elm several times a day by syringe or by squeezing the food tube directly into the back of their mouth. This effort was able to save 4 of the cats. We lost the 1 because we didn't realize she was refusing food because she could not smell or taste it. She fought us constantly. She was just coming around when she had a stroke and soon died thereafter.
This was the most vicious illness I have ever encountered in any of my animals in over 50 years of being a pet owner. Its progression lasted 5 weeks and sometimes longer, as with the one we lost.
Mary, I'm keenly interested to hear symptoms beyond loss of smell (which is very interesting… that's what SARS CoV people had). Please make a list of symptoms you saw, even in aggregate, as this will greatly help find a remedy for the epidemic.
As a side note: any idea of a source of the sickness in your cats? Were they all hunters/outside access cats?
No known source of the sickness. 2 are indoor-outdoor cats and prefer hunting for their food. 3 are indoor cats. Those 3 went off their food, and could not smell even catnip. Both of the indoor/outdoor cats recovered more quickly.
Symptoms, besides refusing food for 4 cats was mostly neurological - staggering gait, lethargy, stiffness in limbs, lack of mobility and coordination, weepy eyes, loss of fur, weight loss. Two of the three cats were vomiting. One had diarrhea along with the vomiting. 4 of the cats had decreased urine output. 1 of the cats had increased urine output. The oldest cat was 8.5. The one who didn't make it was just under 5 years. She was also the one that had more of the Wet FIP symptoms-gastrointestinal, kidney output, etc., while the others had more of the dry FIP symptoms - neurological. We opted not to get the blood work done as the bill was already over $500. There was a space of 7 days between the 1st cat and the 2nd cat getting sick, with the 4th and 5th cat getting sick 5 weeks after the first. I was reminded that we gave them equal parts of slippery elm, goldenseal, and lobelia and mixed it into organ meat pates and high calorie gel. All but 1 of the cats (outdoor-indoor) required hand feeding with a syringe to start their treatment. That 1 did not seem to loose her sense of smell.
No. We were told it was probably a viral infection. There seemed to be something going around our area and there were lots of cats with similar symptoms.
Based on what? I never saw FIP in practice, to my knowledge, but seem to remember it was usually fatal. And not wildly transmissible to others, but I could be wrong.
Might I suggest looking at Baptesia? Lots of neurological and respiratory symptoms in that remedy, and it's been useful in previous influenza epidemics (see Dorothy Shepherd's Homeopathy in Epidemic Diseases pp. 53- 54). Seems a good place for we mouth-breathing lay people to start while the appropriately trained experts are getting their sh!t together. Heaven forbid anybody find themself in such a situation.
Hmm, looking in my Vermuelen's materia medica, nothing CNS shows up in the opening Characteristics, not a good sign. Also, very emphasized: all discharges are offensive. And dark.
There are typical flu symptoms: achy, don't want to move/prostration…
So, we'll have to see what symptoms we can amass as cat folks report what they went through, as always.
Thank you, as always, Will. Most of our food, dog and human, is shipped to us from Nourish Coop. It’s the best there is by every measure of healthy. You might have to get on the waitlist but it’s well worth the wait. Amos Farm (Amish) is another but requires local coops, not individual shipping.
Another great newsletter, thank you. The ingredient label for the weight control food was an eye opener. It’s worse than I thought. I’m keeping my focus on the man manipulated, function weaponized avian flu virus. California has shut down the largest raw dairy and I miss my milk and keifer. I’m concerned about the cat deaths as I feed my cats raw. One of my cats is an indoor/ outdoor barn cat that hunts everyday and catches birds occasionally. I also have a small flock of free range chickens. A question that I have is exactly why does this avian virus affect cats? So far, I’m not changing anything as I feed only beef, fish and lamb raw.
I share your wonderment about a bird virus having such a disease impact on cats, and even cows' mammary glands. It's a respiratory virus and not a newcomer to the scene.
We can't be sure of much with GoF research ongoing, I'm afraid. That's a truly evil undertaking with the clear intention of making viruses more damaging and more infectious. And as we've seen, Fauci and others have caught lying about it in the SARS instance.
Thanks for the Cornucopia link. I'm not familiar with that yet. Looks like I may choose to switch the egg brand that I buy when the local farm market runs out of eggs, as they do this time of year.

Thanks for such a detailed response Dr Falconer, I appreciate you very much. You’re such a rare voice of truth when it comes to our beloved pets!
I came here to say the same thing, only you said it first and better! I will contact a holistic vet or homeopath first if my pet has symptoms.
excellent points, MJB... thanks to YOU and Dr. Will. always appreciate the info as we all sort thru the current mess.

Zoetis doesn’t make vaccines or mRNA to my knowledge. “Virus in a dead animal?” Not sure what you mean there Lesa.

Not entirely sure they were mrna, but they were still in the experimental phase, and never got approved if that tells you anything.

While we did not receive a full diagnosis of what it could be, I believe it was FIP.
Did any vet make a presumptive Dx?
No. We were told it was probably a viral infection. There seemed to be something going around our area and there were lots of cats with similar symptoms.
Sounds even less like FIP then. Doesn’t “go around” like a flu
Based on what? I never saw FIP in practice, to my knowledge, but seem to remember it was usually fatal. And not wildly transmissible to others, but I could be wrong.
Primarily the symptoms, I at first thought our cat was poisoned due to the neurological symptoms.
Has anybody in the vet homeopathy community suggested a genus epedemicus remedy or remedies for H5N1 in cats?
Might I suggest looking at Baptesia? Lots of neurological and respiratory symptoms in that remedy, and it's been useful in previous influenza epidemics (see Dorothy Shepherd's Homeopathy in Epidemic Diseases pp. 53- 54). Has an avian flu Virus ever been isolated? 🧐
It has, but that’s a question better asked of a virologist. You’ll have thousands to choose from if you sincerely want to find out.
Another great newsletter, thank you. The ingredient label for the weight control food was an eye opener. It’s worse than I thought.
