thank you for the monoclonal antibody news, lost a dog to that. now I feed my dogs home cooked meals and minimal vet interactions. never had healthier dogs.
Mom always told me to “look both ways” before crossing the road. In this now more perilous time of greed, lies, obfuscation and dogma, one now needs to look in every direction before trusting “the science”, especially the Jab and ABx stuff.
JAK inhibitors are notmonoclonal antibodies. We have to hold each other to high standards to get the true information out there. JAK inhibitors are not monoclonal antibodies. JAK inhibitors are small molecules that target Janus kinase enzymes, while monoclonal antibodies are large, protein-based molecules that target specific proteins or cells. JAK inhibitors are intracellular, working inside cells, whereas monoclonal antibodies are extracellular, targeting specific components on the cell surface.
these new drugs are so harmful I will take a dog on pred anyfay over them. I have seen multiple cases of turbo cancers from dogs on Apoquel and Librela is just depressing, all the suffering and traum it is creating.
Wow, as drugs have evolved, they've clearly gotten more dangerous. Yeah, don't think we ever worried about immune suppression on the level of cancer allowing before Apoquel came along. Certainly not from pred.
I read Susan Thrixton's article as well as the entire article by Emmet Frazier - not just the cherry picked bites presented to us by Thrixton with a bit of spin, hyperbole, and questionable analysis.
For example, she says:
Since January 1, 2012 – 2,019,350 pounds of raw pet food has been recalled for pathogenic bacteria.
Since January 1, 2012 – 158,079,008 pounds of kibble pet food
But how do these numbers compare when you consider them on a percentage of total pounds produced basis?
And why consider commercially prepared diets only? Neither are ideal. The best way to be assured of safety and quality is to have adequate knowledge of how to assemble a diet for your animal (educate yourself) and know what you're putting in the bowl (make it yourself). ALL companies exist to make a profit. Read the last couple of paragraphs in Frazier's article. Did Wild Coast Raw use culled chickens (cheap or free) in the batch that sickened Kiki Knopp's cats?
I didn't much care for the tone of either article, and don't much care for the condescending tone on both sides of the issue toward those of us doing the best we can to make good dietary choices for our animals. Yes, kibble is bad - some of it much more so than others. No, raw feeders are not crazy conspiracy theorists. No, a raw diet is not right for every animal. No, those of us whose animals can't tolerate it aren't doing it wrong. Yes, you can cook the meat. No, serving a cooked diet is not harmful. Yes, dogs can eat carbs. Yes, it is safe to make pet food yourself. No every meal doesn't have to be perfectly balanced.
This quote from Frazier's article is true: "Most pets who eat raw diets “will do fine,” said veterinary infectious disease specialist Scott Weese. On the other hand, he added, “some won’t.”
That simple statement should be the basis on which you, Susan Thrixton, Cabernet, The Dogs Naturally Gals, and the rest of the raw food fanatics build.
Digging in now, Laura, thanks so much. Creepy how the early researchers were assassinated, for God’s sake! Shows us to what extent greed is behind most of medicine today.
And, as cats are probably one our most sensitive species, I’ll be very interested in Margaret’s experience.
My puppy got the distemper vaccine and died from distemper pretty much soon after. It was heartbreaking to see my once vibrant adorable Golden retriever puppy become weak and then lifeless 😭
Wish I had found you before I vaccinated my dog ... (never again!). I admit, though, I'm scared to feed raw. She eats organic turkey / chicken, canned, and some supplements. Even a ball at a dog run gave her Giardia ... But Primal Pet Foods seems to have a high pressure cold process to kill pathogens? I've written to them but haven't heard back ...

We have a friend who has done chiropractic work on horses come out and he showed me exactly where the joint is and how to manipulate her leg to help her relax and then massage the arnica into the joint area and use cold packs.
Thank you so much ! I’m looking forward to finding a time to start your course on homeopathy! With a husbsnd recovering from surgery right now, I’m full on farm work so it’ll be a bit.
Great, though I can’t imagine a heifer allowing much manipulation of a hind limb, and oral arnica is by far more effective than any topical. Carry on. Hope it warms up for you soon.
Not the first fraud like this. I wrote earlier (years before substack) about animals ending up in the rendering plant, when they were supposed to be cremated. At least this creep is being prosecuted.
He served 30 months in federal prison years ago for Medicare fraud when he owned an ambulance service. Somehow, was still able to be a licensed funeral director and fool over 25+ veterinarians who used his service. He took over 175,000+ pounds of animal waste to the dump over a period of time, which I don't recall off the top of my head the exact number of years. My dog that I was talking to you about a few months ago that was euthanized due to seizures from the rabies vax ended up with this criminal. I was having a hard time getting over her passing from the vax damage and two months later find out she was dumped like trash. I'm not very happy with that vet needless to say. Guess I'll try the Ignatia again that you recommended for the grief. Thanks for reading and replying. Just needed to get some frustration out.
I have to comment on the strangles in puppies. I whelped a litter of puppies and at 7 weeks I was required to give them their first puppy shot. Fortunately my husband who is a vet was giving them their physicals when he caught the strangles on 2 of the puppies. No shots had been given to any of them . When talking to the breeders , this same mama dogs previous litter had 3 pups with strangles. So as much as I agree vaccines are given way to early and are one size fits all, these pups clearly had a mother who’s crappy immune system was passing it on to these youngsters
Only 2 of my dogs had been given 1st puppy shots and nothing else ever. My 3rd puppy received absolutely no shots ever and at 4 months presented with IMHA. Shedding from litter mates?? who knows. All I know anything connected to the pharma industry is not beneficial to our pets or us.
Seems to be a genetic (or maybe epigenetic?) connection with this disease. Now that we've been over vaccinating pets for 60+ years, there's more disease susceptibility being passed gen to gen.
The IMHA is much more a puzzle. Though it can happen after HW meds as well as vaccination. Shedding shouldn't be that big a deal, compared to injections. The immune system at least has oral/respiratory alerts in place for that route of exposure.
What about deworming meds like panacur. These breeders worm the begeezers out of these tiny pups. Can’t be good for their gut biome.
Seeing so many anemia cases! I think some of these breeds are more susceptible . Too many neurotoxins, vaccines, crappy food. I wish more people would start doing their own research especially since the vets are programmed by pharma to push all this stuff.
funny, I've been hearing about people who are taking ivermectin like it's candy - for everything, and some are now taking FenBen too like it's the new fountain of youth.
Thank you. She’s a first time heifer and during one of our last winter ice storms, she delivered, but the calf was killed by buzzards - heifer could not stand. The Vet came out and gave her antibiotics, etc. He said she’ll get up in a bit. Well, she did - but was down again and we had to use the hip lifter to get her into the shed for weather protection and close to hay and water. She finally did get up and seemed to be recovering. But one morning we went out to milk her and her back
Left leg was swollen below the hip but above what I’d call the knee. Took her in for X-rays - best I could get out of them was a chipped bone- they were not sure what she did, maybe pull a muscle?
She delivered Jan24th!
It’s still very puffy and drawn up - she cannot walk on that leg but hops.
We’ve tried essential
Oils, water therapy, Frequency DNA quantum entanglement with remote device, DMSO gel, comfrey compress…
She gives us a gallon and qt to half every day, we’ve altered the belly surger to not put pressure on her back. I’m wondering if injecting DMSO would prove helpful?
So, from the time of getting her up, and she able to stand to this swelling, how much time elapsed? And, let’s locate this. The knee is the next joint up from the hock. Is the knee itself swollen, i.e. is that the site of this? If you compare this knee to its opposite, for size, heat, etc. do they feel the same or different?
Thinking back, I’d say a week, we had more wet weather, slick grass and as she was still weak on that leg from the traumatic delivery, vet said she may have chipped a little piece of bone - or pulled something trying to stand after resting - no one can tell us anything definite.
But that’s the weird part-
It’s not her hip bone and the swelling is gone by the time it gets to her knee.
Tomorrow May I send a photo somehow?
It must be very painful.
We have her in her own private grass paddock since it is obvious she cannot bear the normal jostling that comes with being in the company of other bovines. She has free roaming range into the hay Area with fresh water as well.
Sure, send well lighted pics. Have access to homeopathic remedies? Thinking Arnica may still help, followed by Ruta graveolens. Topical DMSO while you’re getting remedies in hand. At least twice daily.
Your research and expertise would be appreciated with respect to treating animals with chlorine dioxide.
Personally I am now hesitant on its use.
My own experience using it resulted in the worsening of symptoms. The health issue was IBS / gut issues.
An acquaintance treating an IBS cat decided to try chlorine dioxide. The cat developed severe stomach pain and worsening symptoms of vomiting and diarrhea. She stopped the chlorine dioxide … unfortunately a few days later the cat passed.
I have posted several times questioning side effects and have received numerous responses regarding stomach pain.
Which begs the question/comment … while chlorine dioxide could be a miracle for some health issues, there appears to be some serious underlying side effects when the health issue is gut related.
Of great interest to me, as well, but as yet, I have zero experience. I just viewed Dr. Kory's post (and the video he links to called Quantum Leap) and it sounds like it can kick in some discomfort along the lines of the Herxheimer reaction. https://pierrekorymedicalmusings.com/p/the-story-behind-the-chlorine-dioxide

Thanks, Josie, somehow I’d confused the “-inib” drugs with the MoAb class, good catch. I’ll amend it today when I get some time.
Fixed, thanks again Josie.

I was able to find 6 Arnica and I’ve been dissolving in a small amt of distilled water and putting in her mouth.
We have put cold packs on her affected area and it’s amazing that she does let me lift her leg and massage the joint area.
I’ll keep you posted.
