[Normally, Vital Animal News would be appearing this Sunday morning, but I’ve been hit with a pretty nasty flu, so my creativity is low. Next week, it’ll come. For now, a short glimpse of my world in No. India.]
Today was the first day in 3 I felt strong enough to take my morning walk, and I saw a cute little all white feral puppy trotting happily down the street when we both locked eyes on a rapidly approaching adult dog, making a bee line straight for him.
35 lb of sleek muscle vs 8 lbs of, well, sleek puppyhood.
Oh oh.
In a flash the pup doubled back and ran under a cock-eyed bed that was on the road side, a temporary freebie for use by anyone waiting to get into our free hospital on the following morning.
There, he had reinforcements:
Two equally small littermates. 6 weeks old, I’d estimate.
All three of them put up a serious barking front, a concerted “Back off, Jack!” and sure enough, that adult dog stood down and moved on down the street.
No sign of Mom anywhere, but these little dudes triumphed!
They can tell her all about it when she returns from her morning breakfast, foraging from the villagers, and it’s time for their breakfast!
Here’s the three, after the threat was thwarted and their cortisol levels were starting to subside:
I congratulated them and walked on.
Clearly, their strength in numbers saved the single pup’s day.
This reminds me of my early days on Facebook (I left there years back, couldn’t support Zucker Man and all his censorship of reality).
I posted something controversial, as is my wont.
Can’t even remember about what, probably some faux pas of Dr. WhiteCoat, like annual vaccines or a nasty drug like Apoquel.
It caught rancor from, guess who? Conventional vets.
I was so busy getting a course ready for enrollment, I didn’t notice the brouhaha until one of my Vital Animal Pack members pointed it out.
It appears the Rancor Chorus (more fun than rancorous, right?) had been “reviewing me” and giving me 1 star reviews there on FB, in addition to saying I shouldn’t be licensed, blah blah blah, the usual BS.
“The nerve! Here’s this homeopathic vet saying we’re screwing up animals, when it’s HIM that’s keeping sick animals from getting timely real care with his pseudo science,”
…was the gist, as I recall.
To my amazement, word spread among my readers and they jumped all over these hot heads, calling them out for being the perpetrators of ill health, not me.
And they jumped in and reviewed me with 5 stars, and (IIRC) somehow got the bad apples to remove their 1 star reviews!
Whoa!
The power of a Pack!
If you’re ever feeling all alone in your quest for natural health for your animals, please remember, thanks to the internet, you are NOT alone. Evah.
Look for your pack, keep in conversation with those you resonate with, and carry on.
Your animals and your sanity will always be healthier when you’re part of a tight group.
p.s. my tightest, most helpful pack these days is called Vital Animal Alpha, and we’re studying acute homeopathy for animals. I only open membership there a couple of times a year, and only briefly at that. If you’re interested, jump on the wait list for first notice when I open a bit later this Spring.
Hi.... have a 10 yr old lovable westie that has a very enlarged heart... any natural recommendations?
